A-sailing we will go!

A-sailing we will go!
We are the Voltair Navy,
We come from Brum by Easyjet
To where the water's wavy.
But when the crew is all aboard
And countdown time is zero,
We turn a key expectantly
And bring to life our Hero.

Our hero's name is Perkins
Today he's looking blue,
But that's because the Spaniards
Sprayed him and changed his hue
His heart is beating strongly
He's hardly any rest,
In fact, our good old Perkins
Is up there with the best!

A-sailing we will go!
We went to northern Norway
North-easterlies did blow
So sails stayed furled one more day.
Yet still we made the daily plan
Of fifty miles to windward,
And who's to thank for all that work?
- Our hero 'neath the floorboard!

Our hero's name is Perkins
Today he's looking blue,
But that's because the Spaniards
Sprayed him and changed his hue
His heart is beating strongly
He's hardly any rest,
In fact, our good old Perkins
Is up there with the best!

A-sailing we will go!
The river Shannon beckoned -
A gale blew up and we were stuck
Ten miles from where we'd reckoned.
The wind did blow most fearfully,
At fifty knots and higher
But 'neath our feet our hero's beat
Did rev and didn't tire.

Our hero's name is Perkins
Today he's looking blue,
But that's because the Spaniards
Sprayed him and changed his hue
His heart is beating strongly
He's hardly any rest,
In fact, our good old Perkins
Is up there with the best!

A-sailing we will go!
The sun is just relentless
Ionian winds did fade away
And sails just flop quite useless.
So turn the key, O helmsman, do
And bring to life our hero
Or else we'll cook before we look
At Corfu's shore tomorrow

Our hero's name is Perkins
Today he's looking blue,
But that's because the Spaniards
Sprayed him and changed his hue
His heart is beating strongly
He's hardly any rest,
In fact, our good old Perkins
Is up there with the best!
